We start off Virginia's blog with her own words written during her visit to Mt. Shasta just a few weeks ago courtesy of JT.
SHASTA
So icy cold to my touch
So silent to my ears
So white to my eyes
So still
So perfect
So beautiful.
Where are you today?
I am here in my winter robes of ermine.
I am powerful.
I am royal.
I am Mountain.
My roots go to the center of the earth.
I am the gateway to the center of the earth
and therein lies my power.
In summer you know the softness of a mountain.
In winter you know the power of mountain.
I am all these all the time.
I am there for you all the time.
And am I not beautiful...
Beautiful I know what you are feeling. Have been over Mt Shasta many times.

Loved it. Thank you, Conrad, for giving your mom a venue so we can all enjoy her gift.

ReplyDeleteWe once spoke of a trip to Mt. Shasta but never realized it...thanks for the beautiful poem it has brought me much closer. One day I shall make a trip to this magnificent place and see it with my own eyes as I now see it through yours...there are souls shall meet once again.
